Community Green Radio

Community Green Radio (CGR) is based in Kiboga in Central Uganda. It is one of the major programs of National Association of Professional Environmentalists (NAPE).The radio is an offshoot of the sustainability of the Sustainability School Program which works on empowering communities to identify their rights and entitlements and works towards attaining and defending them.

The radio is aimed at amplifying the voices of local communities in the eco-sensitive Bunyoro and Buganda Regions to effectively participate in natural resource management processes.

Community Green Radio started in August 2014 and was operating through affiliation with Liberty radio in Hoima. It would broadcast live from Thursday to Sunday from 1:00 pm to 3:30 pm. However, with the demand from communities for a fully-fledged radio, NAPE purchased Radio Kiboga FM in Kiboga town recently, which will be rebranded to Community Green Radio.

For now, Community Green Radio broadcasts on Radio Kiboga for four hours from 17:00 hours to 21:00 hpurs from Monday to Sunday. It is at a frequency of 103.0 FM. It also broadcasts live through Community Green Radio/Kiboga Fm Uganda app for Android users.
